The Raspberry Pi itself is about the size of a credit card, but it only has a standard full sized SD card slot. When you plug in a standard full sized SD card into it, the card sticks out of the outline of the Raspberry Pi, making the overall size slightly larger. My solution is to add a microSD card slot to the Raspberry Pi permanently, and in a location that does not stick out of the original Raspberry Pi outline.

It landed on the SD card and the feeble card slot took no prisoners. The card slot broke as it was predestined to do, the moment anyone looked at it harshly or in the wrong tone of voice.
A thin piece of the top of the brittle SD card slot broke off, making the slot unusable since it could not press the SD card onto the contacts anymore. I checked for solutions and found this Instructable but I couldn't find a suitable replacement SD card slot for a reasonable price, so I came up with the idea of using an Adafruit Low-profile microSD card adapter as a "slot" since I had one readily available.
